Feb 16, 2012 - As a college art student I was particularly drawn to this painting master for his dark portraiture work. May 21, 2014 - Everyone in the Old Master market is talking about the astonishing price achieved for a Netherlandish School painting that was sold at Lempertz on 17th of May. Wondering what the story behind every solemn face or smirky stare actually meant. Oct 9, 2013 - This information helps show that since Prince Henry was of royalty, this played a major influence on this series of Rembrandt's paintings, to include Descent from the cross. Sep 27, 2013 - The thing depicted has a presence which goes deeper than likeness. Oct 8, 2013 - The book Rembrandt: the Painter at Work gave multiple insights into Rembrandt's technique although I think the author missed the most critical aspect regarding Rembrandt's methods. Evidence strongly suggests it is Hansken's skeleton on display in the Museum of Natural History in Florence. Museum director Ernst van de Wetering is absolutely positive: the painting is “undoubtedly” the work of the master. Oct 6, 2010 - The painting Tobias and his wife has always been attributed to one of the 17th-century master's pupils, but according to Rembrandt expert Ernst van de Wetering, it's by Rembrandt himself. An unusual Rembrandt According to Mr Ex, the work wasn't recognised as a Rembrandt before because it hadn't been examined thoroughly enough. Nov 4, 2013 - Rembrandt's drawing of Hansken, a female Asian elephant, in 1637. By Pia Helena Ormerod | Published 14 May 2014. Mar 18, 2013 - The world's leading Rembrandt expert has just confirmed the National Trust's first ever Rembrandt in its collection of 13500 paintings. Jan 17, 2012 - It's a work of “laughable absurdity,” as one of the co-curators of Rembrandt in America, Tom Rassieur, described it. May 14, 2014 - Inviting all artists – Your paintings could share space with Rembrandt and Murillo. Mar 13, 2014 - Rembrandt portrays himself at work in his studio, intently studying his reflection, before turning to the canvas whose edge we can just barely discern at the right side of the painting. This has something to do with time. Thank goodness Dude has been absorbed into the hand-rolled q-tips of deft restorers.
